Redbubble is a hugely popular print-on-demand platform that is open to all people around the world. While it is free to join, there are a few requirements before setting up an account to ensure it’s a smooth process.

If you’re over 16, then you can join Redbubble and pick any username as long as it hasn’t been used.

Before you can upload your designs, you will need to confirm your email address.

After your account is confirmed and you have to fill out your Payment Details.

At the moment, you have only two payment options: Paypal and bank account transfer (only available for US, UK, and Australian bank accounts).

How much does it cost to make a Redbubble account? The reason why so many artists want to sell their designs on Redbubble is that this platform is completely free. YES, free.

Artists and designers no longer need to spend hours and hours designing and printing their own products. Redbubble offers artists the opportunity to upload the artwork to be printed on a wide range of merchandise, such as clothing, home décor, greeting cards, and more.

The best part about it is that your design can be uploaded on all the available products and you don’t pay any listing fee as on Etsy.

Does Redbubble Take Your Money?

The company only takes a small cut from the sales of your product, but it does take some money from you.

The truth is, Redbubble takes 80% of the retail price and you are then left with 20%. The company has a fixed basic price for each product, and anything about this fixed price is an artist’s profit.

With a fixed maximum retail price over which the designer can add their royalty markup, Redbubble is unlike any other marketplace.

Conclusion

Redbubble is an online marketplace for independent artists. Artists can upload their artwork, design t-shirts, mugs, hats, and almost any other type of merchandise.

Once the artist has uploaded their work to Redbubble, they have the option to set a fixed maximum retail price over which they can add their own royalty markup.

  1. The article is out of date. RedBubble is not free.

You have to pay to sell designs on RedBubble.
The amount you have to pay is 40 – 50% of your profit margin.

    • As a Redbubble seller, I have also already received an official notice that there will be three tiers, with the most common Redbubble Standard paying a cut from their margins of each sale. I had expected this behavior, as other POD marketplaces already have something similar.
