We all know the feeling — you take a fantastic photo, but there’s one pesky problem — an unwanted person in the background, a true photobomber.
This can be really frustrating; a perfect shot is ruined by something that doesn’t belong there.
So, what can you do?
Is there any simple solution for removing the person from the photo?
You can use Canva and its AI-powered Magic Eraser to easily remove any person or object from a photo.
It’s so simple to use that anyone can do it.
In this brief tutorial, I will demonstrate how to use the Magic Eraser tool on Canva to remove any unwanted objects from a photo to make it perfect.
Note: I have also made a video tutorial on how to use Canva Magic Eraser. You can watch the video below.
How to Use Canva Magic Eraser Tool
With Canva Magic Eraser tool, you can quickly eliminate any distractions or unwanted people and objects from your pictures.
This provides you with a perfect, memorable image that captures the moment exactly how you want it.
And the best part? It’s incredibly easy to use!

Now, let’s get started and I’ll show you exactly how simple it is to quickly take away any unwanted objects from your pictures using the Magical Eraser Tool.
STEP 1: Open Canva And Upload Your Photo
First things first, head over to Canva and create a new project. If you already have the perfect image, you can upload it yourself.
Alternatively, you can browse Canva’s huge library of stock photos to find one that suits your project.
STEP 2: Use the Magic Eraser tool
Now that you have selected your photo, it is time to start editing. Click on the photo to access the “Edit Photo” menu in the upper left corner.
This action will open a list of tools on the left side of the screen. In the vertical menu, look for the “Effects” tab and, in the “Tools” section, click on the “Magic Eraser” tool.
Please note: The Magic Eraser tool, marked with a crown icon, is only available to paid members of Canva.
STEP 3: Select The Area You Want to Erase
When you open the Magic Eraser, you’ll see a brush tool with an adjustable brush size.
Use this tool to highlight the area of the photo containing the unwanted person or object.
STEP 4: Erase the Object From the Photo
Once you have selected the area you want to erase, the Magic Eraser tool will attempt to remove the unwanted element from the photo.
If you are not satisfied with the result, you can use the “Reset Erasings” button or the brush tool to achieve better results.
STEP 5: Save Your Photo
Once you’re happy with the end result, it’s time to export your edited image. Simply click the “Download” button and select your preferred file format and size. Then, download the image to your device, and voila!
And there you have it!
With just a few simple steps, you can remove unwanted people or objects from your photos using the Canva Magic Eraser tool.
