Selling on Etsy is a lot of fun, but it can also be a real pain in the neck sometimes.
All that typing, adding photos, and using special words for searches feels like it never ends.
I used to spend what felt like forever on every single listing. My poor fingers were so worn out from all that typing!
But then, I figured out some brilliant hacks to speed things up.
Major time savers! I’m still perfecting my skills, but now listing takes just a few minutes instead of hours. Wouldn’t you love to know my secrets?
Secret #1: Copy People
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel for every listing’s title and tags (those are the words people use to search for your stuff).
That’s just crazy talk!
Instead, check out what the top sellers for your item are using.
Those people have already done the hard work of figuring out the best words.
Here’s how: Search Etsy for your item like “whale shirt”. Skip any paid ads (those are the ones that say “Ad” next to them). Those aren’t the real rankings.
Click on the first few natural listings (the ones that aren’t ads). See what titles and tags they use.
Just copy the good ones for your listing.
Secret #2: Use Templates
Why type the same stuff over and over again?
For example, make a description template for each type of product you sell. Just drop it into new listings.
Only change a line or two for that specific item. You can also make templates for things like review requests (when you ask customers to leave a review) and customer emails.
Just take some time and create these templates once. And then re-use, re-use, re-use! No need to start from scratch every time.
Secret #3: Control Your Chaos
Constantly opening and closing different files for listing photos is a real headache. So control your chaos!
Create one master file in a program like Canva (it’s a design program that’s really easy to use). Stash all your product mockups, graphics, and extras in there.
When it’s listing time, you’ve got everything together in one place. Just copy and paste what you need, as quickly as it can get.
Secret #4: Try Print-on-Demand
If you’re just getting started on Etsy, print-on-demand is a life (and time) saver!
Basically, a company like Printify or Printful prints and ship anything you sell. T-shirts, mugs, puzzles, you name it.
You just upload your design.
When it sells, they print and ship it directly to your customer.
The order even auto-tracks in your Etsy shop. It’s virtual selling at its finest! No need to worry about printing, packaging, or shipping anything yourself.
Secret #5: Duplicate Similar Listings
Are your products almost identical except for a small detail?
Then duplicate listings! Start with one completed listing.
Then copy it.
Now you’ve got a copy to tweak. Just update the little part that’s different, like a color or design element. In no time, you’ll have dozens of polished listings ready to roll.
It is way faster than starting from scratch each time.
There you have it!
My absolute best Etsy time saving tips and hacks.
Start using just a couple and you’ll shave hours, maybe even days, off your listing work.
More time to spend creating new products. More time for having fun, if that’s your thing. Either way, you win!
Selling on Etsy can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a lot of work.
With these simple tricks, you can save yourself a ton of time and effort. No more worn-out fingers from all that typing! Just implement a few of these hacks, and you’ll be listing like a pro in no time.
